Privacy Policy
AI Cleaner is a storage cleaner for Android, made by Cybercodex. It finds duplicate, similar and blurry photos, similar videos, screenshots, large videos and chat media, compresses photos and videos, keeps a private vault and finds duplicate contacts. All of this happens on your phone. Your photos, videos and contacts are never uploaded, never sent to us and never shared. The app has no accounts and no servers of its own. It is free with ads and an optional subscription, and it uses Google's analytics and crash reports to understand how the app is used. Those services collect some data from your device, described below.
What the app reads, and what it does with it
- Photos and videos (permission "Photos and videos"). The app reads your gallery to find what can be cleaned: it compares pictures with each other, measures sharpness and spots faces to suggest the best shot. The models that do this run on your phone. Nothing leaves it. Items you choose to clean go to Android's own Trash, where you can restore them for 30 days.
- Photo location (permission "Access media location"). Used only so a compressed copy keeps the original photo's or video's location, the same way it keeps its date. The app does not use your location.
- Contacts (permission "Contacts", asked only when you open Contacts in the app). Used to find people saved more than once and contacts with no number or email. Duplicates are joined with Android's own "link contacts"; nothing is deleted, and you can unlink them in your Contacts app.
- Notifications. Used only to show compression progress while it runs in the background.
- Private vault. Items you move into the vault are stored inside the app's own storage on your phone and opened with your screen lock or fingerprint. They are not backed up to the cloud, and uninstalling the app deletes them.
The app's scan results, settings and free-plan counters are stored only on your phone.
What is collected, and by whom
- Ads: Google AdMob, and where they are used, AppLovin and Unity Ads, shown only to people without AI Cleaner Pro. To show and measure ads, these networks collect your device's advertising ID, your IP address (used to estimate approximate location), device and app information, ad interactions and diagnostic information. This data is processed by each network and, for ad delivery and measurement, may be shared with its ad partners. See How Google uses information from apps that use its services, the AppLovin privacy policy and the Unity privacy policy.
- Google Analytics for Firebase (analytics). We record app events, for example finishing a scan, how much space was found, cleaning, compressing or opening the subscription screen, with counts and sizes but never the photos, file names or contacts themselves. Firebase adds an app-instance identifier, the advertising ID where available, general device information and approximate location derived from your IP address. We use this only to improve the app and measure how ads and the subscription perform. See Privacy and security in Firebase.
- Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports). If the app crashes or hits an error, a report with the device model, Android version, app version and the technical details of the error is sent so we can fix it. It carries an installation identifier, not your name.
- Firebase Remote Config. The app downloads its settings, such as free-plan limits and how often ads appear. This uses a Firebase installation identifier and does not collect personal information.
- Google Play (AI Cleaner Pro). Google Play handles every payment. We receive a confirmation that a subscription is active, never your payment details. The subscription is managed and cancelled in Google Play.
In Google Play's Data safety terms, the app collects device or other IDs, app interactions, purchase history, crash logs, diagnostics and approximate location through these services, for advertising, analytics and app functionality. Photos, videos and contacts are processed only on your phone and are not collected. Everything sent is sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. We do not sell your data.
Consent
Where the law requires it, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and US states with privacy laws, the app asks for your choice through Google's consent message before ads are personalised. You can change your choice at any time from the menu on the app's home screen → Privacy options.
Your choices
- Permissions: turn photos, contacts or notifications off at any time in Android Settings → Apps → AI Cleaner → Permissions.
- Advertising ID: reset or delete it, or opt out of personalised ads, in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads (the exact path varies by device).
- No ads: AI Cleaner Pro has no ads.
- Deletion: see Deleting your data.
Children
AI Cleaner is made for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app and want their data removed, contact us.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and publish the new version at this address.
